Open Access Policy
Paleontología Mexicana (PM) provides open access to all its content for academic work. All the content of the journal, from the beginning of publication in 1954 to the present date, is published in Open Access by PM. There is no charge to authors and readers for publishing or downloading published material for academic purposes. In this way, PM is under the Golden Open Access model. Access to PM is free at all times and without restrictions. PM depends on the financial support of the Instituto de Geología of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the support of the Editorial Unit of the Instituto de Geología, its editorial committee, and its list of expert reviewers.
In adherence to the General Guidelines for the Open Access Policy of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, published on September 10th, 2015, and considering the principles of Open Access formalized in the declarations of Budapest (2002), Bethesda (2003), and Berlin (2003), the journal Paleontología Mexicana allows:
- Open, public and free access to all its content.
- The content may be used for non-profit purposes as long as they mention the authorship of the work and that it was originally published in Paleontología Mexicana.
- The authors may make other non-exclusive agreements for the self-archiving, deposit or distribution of the version published in the journal Paleontología Mexicana. For example, it may be included in institutional, national or international repositories or personal web clearly indicating that the document was published first in Paleontología Mexicana, including in the citation the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or URL that directs you to the journal site where the article was originally published.
We declare that the journal Paleontología Mexicana does not charge authors for the submission, processing or publication of articles.
