Microfauna of the Lower Eocene of the Yucatan Peninsula
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work encompasses the study of a foraminifera microfauna discovered for the first time, coming from the lower part of the Chichén-Itza formation, in the southwestern part of the Yucatán Peninsula. The stratigraphic distribution of the following species is described and discussed in detail: Coskinolia elongata Cole, Barelis floridanus Cole, Operculina catenula Cushman Jarvis and Discocyclina (Discocyclina) cristensis (Vaughan), assigning them a Lower Eocene age.
