Abstract

In this work, fauna from the southeastern region of the State of Veracruz is described. The fauna includes abundant gastropods of the middle Miocene from the Agueguexquite Formation. 138 species are described and illustrated, 20 of which are new: Fissurella (Fissurella) mexicana, Microgaza (Microgaza) santarosaensis, Liotia woodringi, Solariobis boardmani, Mathilda veracruzana, Niso wilsoni, Capulus (Malluvium) istmica, Erato pustuloides, Zanassarina wadei, Metulella (Thiarinella) olssoni, ?Euthria incerta, Nassarius (Uzita) tehuantepecensis, Nassarius (Uzita) gardnerae, Nassarius collinsi, Busycon grandis, Oliva (Oliva) lisa, Oliva (Strephonella) nicoli, Olivella (Olivella) boesei, Olivella (Dactylidia) robusta, Olivella (Minioliva) santalucreciensis, and a new subspecies: Calliostoma (Calliostoma) pulcher mexicana. A new subgenus is also proposed: Caribiella.
