Abstract

The geological column in the vicinity of Tecomatlán consists of a deeply eroded metamorphic complex, probably Precambrian in age. On top of this complex lies the Middle Jurassic with a remarkable angular unconformity. The section is completed with Tertiary deposits that constitute the most recent rocks with the exception of the alluvium of the area.
