Ichnofossils of terrestrial vertebrates from the Late Cenozoic in the "Pie de Vaca" area, Tepexi de Rodríguez, State of Puebla

Abstract
In Tepexi de Rodríguez, State of Puebla five localities with fósil vertebrate tracks has been found. The ichnofossils are preserved in a lacustrine limestone from the Pie de Vaca Formation, wich age has been estimated as Plio-Plesitocene (+ 2 million years). 283 tracks and 14 trackways are known from the area, belonging to five different mammals and two birds. Also, there are three taphoglips: a complete skeleton of a flamingo and two isolated bird bones.The analysis of these tracks and traces shows that the authors were Plio-Plesitocene camelids, big felids, proboscideans and small artyodactils. The bird tracks were made by two diferent kind of animals: flamingos and caradrids.
