Descripción de nuevas icnitas de Theropoda y Sauropoda de la Formación San Juan Raya (Cretácico Temprano) en Santa Ana Teloxtoc y San Martin Atexcal, Puebla, México

Resumen

Se describen cuatro nuevos registros de icnitas de dinosaurios de los subórdenes Theropoda y Sauropoda en la Formación San Juan Raya (Cretácico Temprano). Estas fueron localizadas en la Barranca El Salitrillo, Santa Ana Teloxtoc, municipio de Tehuacán y en el Río Magdalena, municipio de San Martín Atexcal al sureste del estado de Puebla. Se utilizó la técnica de fotogrametría para el registro digital de cada icnita de dinosaurio. Las fotografías fueron procesadas con programas de uso libre, primero con VisualFm v. 0.5.26 donde se obtuvieron los modelos 3D, posteriormente fueron procesados con los programas Blender v. 4.2 y Paraview v. 5.13. Esto permitió observar a mayor detalle los caracteres morfológicos de las icnitas. Se utilizó el programa ImageJ v. 1.53t para obtener los datos morfométricos y realizar la descripción. Posteriormente, se realizaron estimaciones paleobiológicas de los organismos productores de cada icnita, por ejemplo, la altura a la cadera (acetabular), la longitud y masa corporal. Los nuevos registros de Saurischia encontrados en la localidad Barranca El Salitrillo incluyen los primeros registros de una icnita generada por un Sauropoda de pequeño tamaño y dos icnitas de Theropoda, una de ellas correspondiente a un individuo de tamaño intermedio, y la otra, a un individuo de tamaño pequeño. Esta última corresponde a una icnita tridáctila no mayor a siete centímetros de longitud. Además, se reporta una nueva icnita en la localidad Río Magdalena que correspondería a un individuo Theropoda de tamaño mediano con tendencia a megatheropodo. Estos registros contribuyen a la compleja icnofauna dinosauriana de la Formación San Juan Raya.
